Happy December everyone! Can you believe that Christmas is only 25 days away!? I can't!
Greeting: check. Now let's get down to business! My goal is to make 2014 my BEST photography year ever. I want to expand not only my portfolio but also my technique so I have created a 2014 Photo Bucket List. Generally bucket lists contain things to do before you die, this one contains photography ideas/concepts to accomplish in 2014. I am looking for models for some of these sessions so if you see any you would like to be a part of please contact me! (If you would be willing to model I would only charge $30 for twelve images with a print release and a ??? long session.) I plan on also offering sessions for these ideas as well, at the normal session price of $100. Let the list begin!! (And check it twice!) Glitter photo shoot: "Have you ever thrown a fistful of glitter in the air?" I have not but I think photos where people are blowing glitter or fake snow are adorable. I need one. Series photos: I'm not quite sure what of yet but some ideas I've had include leaves (spring, summer, autumn, winter), lakes, one baby from newborn to one year, eyes, or the moon. Nightscapes: I've been semi addicted to night photography tips and tricks lately and I oh so badly want to experiment! Prepare to see some good night photos in 2014 (hopefully one from up at the north shore!) Travel: I want to go to at least four crazy photographic locations around the area/state/country/world. I'm not picky where they are, I just want to go this year! I would love to book some photo sessions where ever I go, though this is not mandatory to my list. Candle couple shoot: This goes semi hand in hand with night photography. Basically I want to photograph a couple outdoors at night (or inside) using solely light produced by a bunch of candles. This will be an incredibly romantic session, perfect for engagement photos! New born: I would love to go into someone's home and take newborn (and new family) photos in a special place for them. I have done them before, just never in the home. Double exposure: This would be the perfect add in to a session for senior photos of an athlete, or for a destination wedding (in this case destination meaning lake preferably.) This could easily be included in a traditional photo session and is not really a full session idea. Back to school: The end of summer 2014 I plan on setting up mini photo sessions for back to school (grades pre-school to fifth grade probably.) Think old chalk board, desk, globe, etc. These would be mini sessions at my shooting location near Santiago, MN. I would need one kiddo to model the concept for marketing material and then the session will be open to a set number of other slots as well. Winter Wonderland: I love winter and Christmas (at least until February...) I would love to have a session outdoors during a day with falling snow and snow angels, snowball fights, snowmen, etc. Vintage Record: For this session I want to go into a record/CD store like the Electric Fetus in St. Cloud and capture some photos in such an awesome space. I see this being PERFECT for either senior photos or engagement photos! The Book Worm: I would love to set up a session where the backdrop is made completely out of newspaper / book pages! This would be the perfect senior session for a real book worm! Sunset: I am looking for a couple to do engagement photos in the sunset. (This could nicely include the candle couple session since they are the same time frame!) Ballet: I would love to create a multiple exposure of a ballet dancer. I see this session taking place outside, maybe is a grassy field type area. I would love to capture some jumping photos and some senior style photos for this session. This session would be awesome in the summer or the fall with the colorful leaves. Well, what do you think?? I would love to hear from you all and book some of these sessions early! If you have any super awesome ideas that you would like to be a part of please let me know as I love doing specialized sessions and have a BUNCH of pieces with prop potential! I hope you have a fantastic holiday season and an unforgettable 2014! ~T
