TEM Photography -- Year in Review
First of all I can't believe it's already time to start thinking about 2015 wrapping up. As I sit here and sort tax documents I am left to reflect on the journey this year has truly been....
January 2nd of 2015 I set a goal for myself -- 70 sessions in 2015. That doesn't sound like a ton to some of my photographer friends, but when this year began I was not only juggling my family life, my photography business, but also a full time job working for the man... I was blessed, dreaming big, and a little too stressed out for my own good trying to keep it all straight.
Fast forward to May and the time finally came to QUIT that safety net job that got in the way of me TRULY fulfilling my dreams. *gulp* I still get anxious thinking of the moment I texted my husband saying something right along the lines of, "here's to the future babe!" That day not only changed my entire year but also my entire outlook on life. It was a decision that made me HAPPY, the moment I truly believed in myself and saw the vision I had been busting my butt towards for years, the moment I did what I needed to do for ME, to prove to myself this was my dream -- and dang am I glad I did!
As I sit here reflecting on the memories, the images, and the people I've been blessed to meet along the way I cannot help but feel emotional. Emotional for the journey over the last year(s), emotional for the lessons learned and fears conquered, and emotional as the sincerest form of gratitude to each and every one of you.
Thank you for opening your homes, hearts, and memories to me. Thank you for inviting me to some of the biggest moments of your lives. Thank you for trusting me to not only capturing those moments in the truest way possible, but also to never steer you astray. Thank you for trusting my vision for your sessions and allowing me creative control. Thank you for all the kind words, emails that made me tear up, Christmas cards, thank you letters, sweet reviews, and memories shared.
Thank you to my handsome husband who puts up with props all over the house, one of the world's messiest offices with To-Do lists on almost every scrap of paper, and weekends/evenings away at times. Thank you to my family who pushed me to make one of the scariest decisions of my life, never stopped supporting my dreams, and trusted me to capture some of their biggest moments as well.
So, from me and mine, to you and yours, here is to a wonderful Christmas and even bigger 2016! Hold on to your hats, this is just the beginning!
See you in 2016 <3,
